* At 412 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain associated with
an area of showers tracking toward urban areas. This rain will
cause urban and poor drainage flooding across portions of the
advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Flushing,
Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack,
Linden, Orange and Coney Island.

Information:
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT SUNDAY...
The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and
southeast New York, including the following areas, in
northeast New Jersey, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern
Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex,
and Western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings
(Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Nassau, Northern
Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Southern Nassau, and
Southern Queens.
* Until 11 AM EDT Sunday
* An area of heavy rain is expected to develop in New Jersey, and
drift northeast into the watch area during the early morning
hours. Heavy downpours may lead to flash flooding along with
urban and poor drainage flooding.

Information:
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
